NEW FABRICS' SWATCH CARDS 2025

Presentation of new technical fabric swatch cards

Performance and aesthetic characteristics, analysis of market demands and attention to sustainability: these are the concepts that have guided Marinello Tende to the research and consequent proposal of new technical fabrics (with new standard colours starting from January 2025), which will be arranged on 5 new sample cards:

Fabrics’ swatch card: P622 BO – B580 – Politex – Opatex zip

We have collected four blackout outdoor fabrics, each with its own characteristics and peculiarities. The P622 BO stands out for its manufacturing, as it is made using Serge Ferrar�s Precontraint technology which makes it highly dimensionally stable even for large sizes. In addition to good dimensional stability given by the reduced weight, the peculiarity of the B580 fabric is the colour: the only colour present is in fact one of the most sought-after on the current market, comparable to anthracite RAL 7016. Politex is a well-known fabric, with a wide range of colours available and suitable for creations where the dimensions are not excessive: we have chosen to vary the standard colours favouring those with the same colour between front and back sides and mostly requested by the market. Finally, the Opatex zip fabric, available in 3 standard shades, is well suited to systems where the space between the headbox and the roller tube is limited; this fabric can still guarantee a good dimensional stability, especially for blinds equipped with zip guides.

Fabrics’ swatch card: S92 – B92 – S96 – SW96 – S88 – SW88

Outdoor filtering, dim-out and blackout fabrics, all from the Soltis family and therefore made according to Serge Ferrar�s French quality and experience: products that last over time and are easy to clean, concepts that combine with both practicality and sustainability. We have chosen to present in this sheet: S92, filtering with 4% of opening factor in 10 standard colours, ideal for large blinds thanks to its excellent dimensional stability, combined for 5 colours with the corresponding B92 blackout fabric, also characterized by excellent stability. For more modestly sized blinds we recommend the S96 filtering (always with a 4% opening and with 10 standard shades), available in 5 colours also in its dim-out and waterproof version SW96. The new fabrics S88 (openness factor 8%, 10 standard colours) and SW88 (waterproof dim-out, 5 standard colours) complete the range of Soltis fabrics with characteristics of providing greater brightness (S88) and waterproofing for cases of restricted spaces (SW88).

Fabrics’ swatch card: S601 – S600 – Fabriscreen – B601 – B600 Lunar

Outdoor screen fabrics, filtering (S601, S600 and Fabriscreen) and darkening (B601 and B600 Lunar), particularly suitable for large-scale applications: these are the main characteristics of the fabrics in this folder, with the new Fabriscreen fabric, available in 5 standard shades. Differently from the others that are made with fiberglass, this fabric (3-meter roll’s width) is made of a polyester mesh that allows for good dimensional stability. It has also the Italian Class 1 fireproof certificate.

Fabrics’ swatch card: Cristal – P302

This card presents the different types of transparent PVC films available and the fabric, according to our experience, most suitable for creating combinations with fabric’s stripes, namely the P302, also developed with Precontraint technology and offered with 9 standard colours. The completely transparent version of Cristal (renamed “Cristal View” and no longer “C801”/”C802”) can be made with “invisible” vertical welds of 0,7 mm or through horizontal welds given by an overlap of approximately 15 mm (new standard process for horizontally welded Cristal). Other types of Cristal are Cristal Res Huvp (smoked grey) and Cristal Brunito (smoked brown). The last type of Cristal presented is the Cristal Window, that is especially requested in environments such as closing verandas of bars or other catering services.

Fabrics’ swatch card: Starlet Up – Starlet Up BO – Glasstex – Glasstex BO – M205 – B205

In this card we present 6 interior fabrics, all with different characteristics and functions, all made in Europe and with 6 standard colours each. The Starlet Up (dim-out) and Starlet Up BO (blackout) fabrics are PVC-free and made of 100% polyester, 80% of which is derived from polyester recycling processes (this is for the roll width of 240 cm, but both the versions are also available in width 300 cm); the blackout version is characterized by having the front side of the fabric in the same shade as the back side. Glasstex (screen filtering 1%, roll’s width 320 cm) and Glasstex BO (blackout with white back side, also 320 cm of width) have the peculiarity of being composed essentially of fibreglass only (therefore without PVC and polyester) and they are characterized by their textile appearance which gives them a pleasant chromatic effect that can be seen in the filtering version. M205 (screen filtering 5%, maximum width 320 cm) and B205 (blackout, roll’s width 250 cm) are versatile fabrics that can be welded and processed even in the opposite direction to the unwinding of the roll, thus allowing the creation of internal products of considerable dimensions.

As a result of the introduction of these new fabrics/colours, A410 and B430 fabrics will become available while stocks last. S99-B99/B990 fabrics and S86-Mesh 350 fabrics become "not standard" and will therefore be managed as such. Furthermore, TenCate fabric will be considered as “standard” only for the “Lugano” model. We remind our kind customers that colours not present in the most up-to-date sample cards are considered as "not-standard colours" and therefore have an additional price. MARCH 21ST, 2023: THE FIRST GLOBAL SHADING DAY

Today, 21^st March 2023, the first "Global Shading Day" is launched, promoted by ES-SO, the European Solar Shading Organization, in order to promote and raise awareness among public and governments on the advantages that sun protection systems are able to bring in terms of benefits to humanity, the environment and the economy.

The climate change challenge, due to overheating, that this and future generations will have to face is now well known: in the light of objective data, a help towards it could certainly be provided by sun protection systems. 

A scientific study carried out by the German consultancy for public and commercial markets Guidehouse* has shown that solar shading can lead to CO₂ emissions’ reduction of up to 100 million tonnes in the period 2021-2050, allowing estimated savings of around 285 billion euros.

Due to the impact of cooling and heating systems, buildings are in fact responsible for the 40% of energy consumption and the 36% of greenhouse gas emissions; the use of these appliances can be limited thanks to sun protection systems, which allow to modulate the contribution of light and heat as you like, thanks also to the technical fabrics’ characteristics.

The technical fabrics are especially designed to filter light and heat according to very specific needs, such as limiting the effect of glare for environments with VDU operators while still guaranteeing a certain amount of privacy.

Fabrics special optical and solar properties will allow for a more limited use of energy-consuming equipment.

NEW INSECT SCREEN CARDS 2020

In addition to the numerous innovations offered regarding the new 2020 fabrics we have decided to propose new sample cards concerning the INSECT SCREENS, applicable in particular on mosquito net structures.
Among these, we underline the latest product concerning the ANTIVIRUS NET, a net specifically designed in order to reduce the growth rate of viruses and bacteria in the environments on which it is installed.

The nets proposed and the related sample cards are the following:
STANDARD NET
The "classic" fiberglass net, it has always been a strong point of Marinello Tend�s insect protection thanks to its proven quality over the years.

BETTERVUE NET
The net that, thanks to the denser mesh and reduced thickness, at the same time allows a greater protection against insects and a better visibility to the outside.

TUFF NET
A heavy-duty net that resists to damages as tears and punctures. One of the most durable nets suitable for places with pets such as dogs and cats. It has a higher thickness able to overcome bumps and it don’t need to be replaced nearly as often.

ANTIVIRUS NET
The Sunox® certified mesh with virucidal and bactericidal properties, it’s able to filter the air reducing the growth of viruses and bacteria in the spaces where it is installed. This occurs thanks to a principle of photocatalysis: with the presence of light, humidity and oxygen, a specific catalyst present on the network is activated, able to transform substances into carbon dioxide and water. SEC NET
The classic net with vertical zebra stripes, with a particular aesthetic but at the same time able to offer a certain safety linked to the high visibility of the product.

NEW FABRIC CARDS 2020

In view of the approaching summer, we thought to expand the offer of our fabric range, proposing new solutions that can satisfy, in addition to the purely aesthetic aspect, also two points that we have always considered fundamental,practicality and economy.
To do this, 5 new sample folders will be released shortly for a total of 7 new fabrics, 5 for outdoors and 2 for indoors (to cope with this new entry, we have decided not to offer the S400-SL400-S3 fabrics anymore) . Please note that the 4103 blue color of the SOFT fabric is no longer available.

1 - CRISTAL fabrics card
With regard to the Cristal transparent outdoor fabric, we have decided to propose a fully dedicated fabric card, reporting the possible processes ("invisible" vertical joints in the case of Cristal C801 or horizontal joints for the C802 and other variants) and the different configurations available. In addition to the already known C800 window and Vinitex 3x3, we have decided to offer the smoked version (burnished C800) and the dim-out version of the aforementioned Vinitex, that is the Vinitex 9x9 product which consists in having the polyester threads much more "dense ”Compared to the 3x3 version.

2 - fabrics card S92-B92
S92 is an outdoor filtering fabric, made of PVC coated polyester, available in 1.77 and / or 2.67 meters height and approved in Class 1 fireproofing; compared to the colors of the previous color chart, six new colors are now proposed. The B92 fabric, external blackout fabric with aluminum-coated back, has six colors all matching with some of the colors of the S92 filtering version: an excellent solution for those looking for filtering and privacy solutions in the same context.

3 - fabrics card S96-SW96-A410-AW410
Together with the already known series of outdoor fabrics S96 (filtering) and SW96 (waterproof dim-out, with its five colors that can be combined with the filtering version), we have decided to combine two fabrics with similar characteristics: A410 (filtering, approved fireproof in Class 1 and available in 9 colors) and AW410 (waterproof dim-out, available in white and beige). A410 and AW410 are both made in Germany, they are made of polyester with PVC coating, they are available in 3 meters height and have a definitely competitive price; furthermore, a characteristic of these two fabrics is the particular "self-cleaning" glossy lacquer, specially designed to allow the drops of rainwater that would otherwise remain on the sheet to slide off.

4 - fabrics card P302-P622 BO
The P302 fabric, an outdoor fabric made of polyester with PVC coating, is now re-presented with the addition of 12 shades, with the aim of offering an even wider range of colors in order to satisfy the most varied uses: this fabric is in fact recommended for applications with Cristal windows and can respond to different color needs such as those required by bars or swimming pools. The P622 BO sheet, available in 2.5 or 2.67 meters in height and in six different shades, is an outdoor polyester and PVC blackout, also made with Precontraint® technology which guarantees excellent dimensional stability even for large roller blinds.

5 - fabrics card S380-Office-Patagonia
S380 5% is an already known fabric: indoor filtering, 2.5 or 3.2 meters high, made of PVC-coated fiberglass filaments, fireproof in Class 1, it is an excellent solution for those seeking elegance in large dimensions: one of the advantages of this fabric is in fact the possibility of rotation and joining despite being an indoor fabric. In addition to the 5% aperture, we now also offer the S380 1% version, to give a privacy solution despite having a minimum passage of light. Office, on the other hand, is the “green” and “PVC free” indoor filtering solution, given the Italian production and the total absence of PVC: fabric 3 meters high and in Class 1, it has a very particular aesthetic and is the answer to those looks for elegance combined with a 100% polyester composition. Patagonia, on the other hand, is our gamble: we propose 9 shades of this vintage fabric with a particular "scratched" effect, also fireproof in Class 1, PVC-free and 2 meters high: the answer for those who ask for modest-sized solutions, economy and privacy at the same time.

Improving the experience of using our products is our prerogative.
For this reason, from March 2020, our Somfy proposal of motors, remote controls and radio automatisms will pass from RTS to IO technology.
This variation will result in minimal variations in the cost of the product, but will allow an advantage in terms of product operation. Let's see the details!
 
What is RTS? Is the abbreviation of Radio Technology Somfy. It was founded in 1997 and has been the reference technology for a long time.
 
What is IO-Homecontrol? It is another radio technology, developed by Somfy together with leading companies in the construction sector in order to develop the new universal radio communication protocol, which enables intelligent home automation. This radio system works bi-directionally, that is, the transmitter and the receiver communicate with each other. So that the user can always know if his command has actually been executed.
 
What advantages? The main advantage of IO technology is the return of information with respect to the commands sent to its systems and engines. With RTS you can send the command to close one or more roller blinds but any malfunction or non-closure of one of them will not be signaled by the system if not "on sight". With the IO system instead, directly from the system, it will be possible to see which roller blind has remained open.
 
What disadvantages? The RTS and IO radio technologies are not compatible. If an existing installation has RTS technology and you want to insert IO devices the only way to get them to talk is through the Tahoma home automation box.
 
What changes during the installation of the roller blind? Except getting familiar with the new items during the first installation, absolutely nothing. The programming logics remain the same.
 
However, our RTS radio proposal will remain available but will no longer be our standard proposal.

We are presenting the latest updates of the technical data sheets regarding our choice of fabrics.

Fabric swatch cards POLITEX and B-NICE
If you are looking for a darkening fabric for outdoor use, our proposal is the POLITEX and B-NICE ---> B-NICE fabrics, both in PVC coated polyester, weldable, and with the possibility of having the application of the zip to guarantee even more performing darkening. POLITEX in bi-color version is now available in two new colors: Dark gray / Light gray and Taupe / Champagne. ---> POLITEX

Fabric swatch cards TRIGLAS and B430
TRIGLAS and B430 are both indoor blackout fabrics. TRIGLAS is a multilayer fabric (glass fiber with PVC film), weldable, ideal for applications in great heights given its reduced thickness. It presents a wide range of colors, both color / color and color / white, to which we have added 4 new colors. For this fabric not all colors have the availability of the Gtot data: for this reason it is always advisable to consult the technical data sheet or our website. ---> TRIGLAS
B430 is an elegant fabric, PVC free as it is composed only of polyester, always bi-colored with soft colors with white back side. From today it is also available the version with the front side in black color.This double white / black contrast tone allows the fabric to be the ideal solution for video projection. ---> B430.

Scheda tessuto S99
S99 is an internal fireproof, filtering fabric, made of polyester with PVC coating, weldable and available in a wide range of colors. The color / aluminum version allows even better light and glare control, and even better thermal protection, for the benefit of indoor living comfort. ---> S99
